INTRODUCTION
The game Roulette is of French origin and was first played in New Orleans. The United States adopted their own version, but the French version is still played time to time in Las Vegas. The only difference is that the American version has a single zero and a double zero versus the French version with just a single zero. It changes the odds and payoffs accordingly. You usually find most tables in Las Vegas with a minimum bet of $1 - $3.
Roulette is a fast moving, simple and exciting game offering many different types of bets and payoffs.
Each Player has a different colored set of non-value Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. $20.00 will purchase a stack of twenty $1.00 chips. $100.00 will purchase a stack of twenty $5.00 chips. These chips have no value at other tables.
After all bets are placed, the Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the ball in the opposite direction. Winning bets are determined by the numbered slot in which the ball comes to rest. The winning number is marked by the Dealer. Losing bets are collected and winning bets are paid.
After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets." You may then place bets on the next spin until the Dealer announces "No more bets."
On even money bets, you lose only half your bet if either zero (0) or double zero (00) is the winning number. On Roulette tables with only the single zero (0), and the winning number is zero (0), Players with bets on even money (outside) areas lose.
You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table.

EASY ROULETTE TIPS
- Find a table with limits you're comfortable with. Each roulette table should have its minimum and maximum bets clearly posted.
- Don't be influenced by previous results. The odds of finding a biased wheel are extremely small.
- Play single zero wheels if you can find them. They are very rare in American casinos but easily found online and in other parts of the world.
- Never play the five number bet, 0-00-1-2-3. This bet has the worst odds on the roulette table.
- There are lots of roulette strategies but none of them can eliminate the house advantage.
- Aim to win more money in fewer spins.
- Find a roulette system that you like and go with it. Odds are it's just as good as any other system out there.
- Don't increase your bets to make up for loses. This is always a bad betting strategy. |
