Poker.com's blackjack side game is going live for real money in a small update to the software Thursday morning. After a long beta testing period we're finally going to flick the switch and let everyone play for real cash.

I love the auto-play feature. You can test your strategies by inputing what you want to do in each possible situation and then just let it play for up to 100 hands.

You set your strategy via the matrix screen shown to the left. It's great fun deciding what to do with each possible hand combination then letting it rip on auto-pilot for 20 hands or so. I just won $187.50 of totally imaginary money!

For beginner blackjack players it may be a a more profitable way of playing with a set recommended strategy. And for good players who already have their own favourite strategy that they stick to, it allows you to play without having to sit there actually clicking buttons, or run it in the background whilst you play poker.

You'll be able to get to blackjack, by clicking the 'side games' button from the lobby once the software updates early Thursday morning. There'll be more side games in the future too such as video poker, carribean stud & three card poker.

New games are coming!

I thought I'd give everyone a preview of what's coming in the next version of the Poker.com software, on track to be released in late November / early December.
New Games!
We'll be adding Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, Razz, 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw, A-5 Lowball, 2-7 Lowball & Badugi in the next release. Early next year we're hoping to add Pineapple and Manila also. (Didn't realise we don't have lowball and Badugi rules on the site yet - will have to get them added!)
New Lobby!
The lobby will be changing to better compliment our poker interface and to incorporate the new games. You'll also be able to access the forum, blog, game rules etc directly from the poker software.
Hard Drive Hand Histories!
Your poker h and histories will be stored in text files on your PC's hard drive. This will enable analysis of your play at any time and make Poker.com's software compatible with some of the third party hand analysing software applications available so players can review and improve their poker play more easily.
New Account Funding Options!
After many player requests, Moneybookers and Nexum Instant Checks will be added as deposit and withdrawal options.
That's still more than a month away though and you can be sure we'll be giving something away to celebrate the launch of our new games and the holiday season. In November we are going to revise the refer a friend program and will be announcing a promotion to coincide with that soon.
